Twenties Girls

Hello dolls, sorry for the lack of posts I have been quite the busy bee!

My sister gave birth to my gorgeous baby niece and we've been swooning over her [she was named Shaila Jo Miller, we had to have some sort of proud Texan twang in there so her middle name is Jo]

Doll-face [as we all call] will be a month old next Monday and she has been the center of attention since the day my sister went into labor, but don't fret I tried to check back regularly even though I haven't commented any of your stellar blogs I haven't forgotten about my blogo-sphere sistah's! Besides the birth of my darling doll-face niece, work was getting hectic but not like my previous over-whelming job [much better] but I am working through it... I even got a raise which made it all worth it! I finally got a new phone.. Yes I am now a statistic, I will be a proud 'crack'berry addict [for those of you who don't know, that is what us Blackberry addicts call it]... I have to wait for AT&T to ship it out, the wait is dreadful but worth it!

So now that your up to speed let's jump right in! This post is inspired by a darling book I read [if your a Barnes and Noble employee we have to share what books we have read, will read, etc..] and I saw the cover of the book Twenties Girl and it immediately caught my eye, the cover is chic and girly. I read the back and it sparked my intrigue. I began to read a bit while I was on my lunch break and I was hooked, I bought it that very same day and 4 days later I finished the book.

The book is centered around Lara Lington and how her life is turned upside down when she is at her great aunt's Sadie's funeral. Lara realizes she has... Shall I say unique gift, she is able to see her great aunt Sadie's ghost.

Sadie is vivacious, bubbly and utterly a girls girl in her frivolous 1920's outfits, it is because of Sadie that Lara learns the truth about her complicated love life and family.

I love how all the characters are connected and that the story is mainly about Sadie's quest to find her long lost gorgeous necklace [Which by the way I wouldn't mind owning] but Sophie Kinsella managed to add romance, suspense and a few laughs along the way!

This book is funny and adventurous I could not put it down! I recommend this book to all you lovelies who want to curl up with a good book.

Sophie Kinsella's book Twenties Girl inspired me to write and dedicate this blog to all of the Twenties Girl's out there, so I collected a few of my favorite Twenties Girl's.

xo xo,

Mimi

1. Congrats on your niece!
And 2. I read that book too and thought it was so cute! I think it would make a cute movie too, with the ghost and everything :)

Congratulations!
I read Sophie Kinsella's book Confessions of a Shopaholic this summer, and I loved it; it's just so funny and smartly written. I still have to watch the movie, but I doubt it's gonna be better than the book.
A great post!
